Spotify major update! Version 0.4.3
If you are a frequent user of Spotify then you probably know that they released a new version today. The new version brings alot of new features such as facebook/twitter integration which again means you can share tracks, playlists, your own new spotify profile and so on. There’s some neat features packed in this update. Another thing worth mentioning is that they added support for adding your local MP3 or AAC collection of songs. They still lack FLAC support which I sincerely hope they’ll add in the future. Also better playlist organizing. Read more about it here.
Spotify 0.4.3 Installer with instructions
Anywho, are you in need of the new installer but can’t get your hands on it ? Well I happen to have the solution for you. I got the installer right here (no bogus, no virus/malware). What you need to do is:
- Click this link, Spotify Installer
- Don’t click “Save As” or anything similar, Click “Run” instead.
Hopefully you’ll be able to update to the new version. You can easily check this if you already have spotify running. I advice that you have actually. If you have Spotify running before following my instructions, it should pop up with a dialogue saying it’s already running and that you have to close it. Now look at the titlebar in that small window. It should say “Spotify 0.4.3 Setup”. The reason why I don’t suggest you save the file is because they seem to have done something with the installer. You can’t simply just copy it and install. Didn’t work on 2 other clients here at home. I needed to do the same as I wrote instructions about.
